Re-visit UP Diliman

University of the Philippines in Diliman, Quezon City is a very special place to me because it's where Cy and me became US.

I didn't study there or what but when I was in college we have this one requirement before we graduate, that we have to go to this In-company Training at the College of Mass Communication that time. And that gave me the chance to experience living and study there for the whole duration of summer and knowing that it's very difficult to study in UP. (why? please search in Google)

I will never get tired of visiting UP for the reason I said above and recently I've search new places to visit inside the campus.

First, this Book Store called Bookay-ukay a combination of two words "Book" and "ukay-ukay" (thrift shop), they sell second hand books as per their facebook. Will be writing more about this bookstore after I visited them and of course will be posting pictures too.

Second, is the Bahay ng Alumni, I saw in facebook that there's a coffee-shop inside or at the side of this building called "The Chocolate Kiss Cafe", being a fan of coffee and pastry I must visit this place.

And since I'm already in the area of Diliman District I also want to visit and dine at Adarna Food and Culture Resto in Kalayaan Avenue. They serve Filipino cuisine and as if you are eating inside a museum because the resto has a lot of antique stuff.

I have so many things in mind to write... and it's anything under the sun. Have to apply for a credit card to buy a laptop.

Father's Day

WHAT MAKES A DAD!

GoD took the strength of a mountain, the majesty of a tree,

The warmth of a summer sun, the calm of a quiet sea,
The generous soul of nature, The comforting arm of night,
The wisdom of the ages, the power of the eagle's flight,
The Joy of a morning spring, the faith of a mustard sees,
The patience of eternity, the depth of a family need,
Then God combined these qualities, When there's nothing to add,
HE knew HIS masterpiece was complete, And so,

He called it... DAD.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY DADDY!!!

Independence Day: Libingan ng mga Bayani

To commemorate the Philippine Independence Day we visited the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes Cemetery) to remember the bravery of the Filipinos who fought for our freedom. It is not that solemn when we walked around because the location of the cemetery is under the flight path of Ninoy Aquino Int'l Airport. So every now and then you can hear and see the descending of the aircraft.

It was established as a fitting resting place for Filipino military personnel from privates to generals, as well as heroes and martyrs. Among those buried in the cemetery are most of the defenders of Bataan and Corregidor from 1 January – 6 May 1942, and the battlefields of the Allied Liberation of the Philippines from 1942 to 1945 during World War II. It also contains the national Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.

You're Stronger Than You Think

My thoughts months ago, since this is also my online journal...

If you will think that you're weak, you will be weaker and weaker as the days go by...

I just want to make you understand that I'm not a sales person anymore. Mostly, sales man owns their time whenever they work... they can do their job at the office, at home or even in Starbucks and sometimes presence is not that important in their jobs. They can communicate thru phone calls and email their clients.

Before, I can meet you anytime whenever you all needed me because I manage my time. But now, may I just remind you (once again) that I'm not in that field anymore. I'm a hotelier already it means my job demands my time and presence every time I'm at work. I have to deal with guest's complains, supervise the staff if they needed me and I can't even leave my post until the next Duty Manager arrives. Sometimes I have to sacrifice certain engagements, commitments even family gatherings just to do my job. You saw me at work and it really needs presence.

I know we have a car and sorry if I didn't drive you to the terminal because of my job and this made you mad because you said you're not that strong anymore to commute. What If I don't know how to drive, will you be madder because I don't have the skills? If you are having a hard time walking because of your knee or foot problem, there's a lot of transportation that can bring you to your destination without getting tired and there's my sister to accompany you also.

Sometimes we need to think and understand each other's situation because that's what family do or does.

P.S.

You are still much stronger than these woman.
